What You Need to Know

The Bradford Dance Academy wishes to maintain a high standard for their students and in doing so create a happy and professional environment in which to learn. Therefore the following rules apply to all students;

  1. Class fees must be paid prior to class commencement, with correct money if possible. New students are required to pay the registration fee and class fee prior to taking any lessons. Term fees (where applicable) paid after week 3 will incur an administration charge.
  2. Payments may be made by cash, cheque, eftpos, direct deposit or credit card. Payments by credit card will incur a small surcharge.
  3. All missed classes must be paid for. However students may make up any missed classes at a later date at no charge. There is no refund for classes missed or for students failing to complete the term. Registration fees are not refundable.
  4. Latecomers must excuse themselves with an apology and a curtsey (or bow) to their teacher before re-joining the class.
  5. If a student needs to leave the class they must curtsey (or bow) to the teacher before leaving and upon returning.
  6. Parents of smaller children must ensure that they go to the toilet before class to avoid accidents and loss of class time.
  7. Parents are not permitted to stay during classes unless prior arrangement has been made. Children can concentrate better and are more obedient with mum not there. Exceptions are made for parents of very tiny children until they become familiar with us and their surroundings.
  8. Any enquiries must be directed to managerial staff before class as teachers are usually busy preparing lessons.
  9. A neat, clean and well-groomed appearance is expected at all times. Hair must be in a neat bun for ballet, braided, plaited or pony-tailed for jazz and tap. If hair is very short, a head band must be worn.
  10. Our uniform is any combination of red, black and white together with any additional requirement specified under the class description. Please check with a member of staff if you are unsure. T-Shirts with logos are not permitted.
  11. Students are required to run through routines from the previous week to refresh their minds. If absent, please ask a fellow student what you have missed thus avoiding wasting time and repetition. If asked for help please assist willingly and happily as you may one day need help yourself.
  12. Students are expected to welcome anyone new to the school and be helpful, friendly and polite at all times.
  13. While all reasonable care is taken to supervise students, BDA management and staff are not responsible for students outside our premises. Junior students may not go outside at any time without supervision. Senior students leaving our premises must ensure that they are modestly dressed and conduct themselves in a manner of which we can be proud.
  14. Smoking is not permitted in or immediately outside our premises at any time by students, staff or parents. We appreciate your cooperation.
